2005 XLT Scab 4x4 4.6V8... provided I do the maintenance regularly (I over-maintain) and drive gently (I do) will these trucks go to 200K miles?
I don't usually keep a vehicle over 60K but I will need to on this one. And I'm the type to replace something before it breaks because I hate being left on the side of the road.
Yeah it sucks gas like a $2 *****, but it's solid as a mountain, carries everything I ever need, and safe. Plus, I've had small econoboxes before and I'd rather sit up high and enjoy my ride instead of shoehorning myself into a small car, just to get 25mpg.

I put 130k on the '97 4.6L that I traded in for my '05.
Still ran like the day I pulled it off the lot and never had anything but a set of brakes, plugs and routine fluid changes done to it. Didn't leak or burn a drop of anything either.

i drive a 94 ranger as my beater vehicle....it has 200,100 miles on it as of a few days ago....needs a few things like a leaf spring and soon some balljoints but the motor is still going....
I read somewhere before I bought my 04 a couple years ago that Ford bench tested the new 5.4 3V to 1 Million miles with no problems...Granted, bench testing is different than real world driving, but I would think you could easily get 300 or so out of it before it started experiencing so much wear that it got to the point where you couldn't keep it cool anymore....or finally snapped a rod or exploded a bearing.......
We have a old 5.8L Ford Windsor motor in a F250...that has about 200K on it and still runs strong with little to no oil useage....I would hope these newer modulars will outrun the old windsors.......
