06 XLT F-150, 2wd, 8' bed, HD payload, tow pkg with ARE cap. That's my work truck. Pulled rear seat and fabricated shelves for tool storage, did this on my 85 & 98 except those were XL's

SuperSlabCab,
The Wolverine would look excellent on your truck. I can't wait to see it! I would definitely get that wheel if I didn't have the 8 Ball already.

I paid around $250. a wheel (17x8 polished) direct from Center Line. No tax. Free shipping.

The wheels clean up pretty easy. Rotary forged wheels don't suck in debris like cast wheels which are full of pores. I had the Center Lines on all winter and there is no damage. After a coating of Wheel Wax and a trip to New York in the snow, the wheels hosed right off.

I got lucky when I went looking for my 4x4 SCab HD cause there were 3 of them listed in the local autotrader. I had to drive a bit, but I got the best deal of the three back in early February.
Also, I was just reading another thread where they were debating swapping out their gears to 4.10's and a couple of guys who'd done it said they didn't notice any decrease in gas mileage.
I'll try to post pics someday, but work is starting up again so it may take longer.
I think for work purposes having an 8' bed is almost mandatory, so it would seem that a lot of people have no intention of using their trucks for work, since there's so many 6.5' beds around.
Mind you, that 21' of truck makes parallel parking a real adventure. I think I'll be getting a rear view camera for sure.
BTW, buying a used 2006 with only 12,000 miles on it is almost like a new truck at almost 40% off.

Thumbs up Sweet Ride

Nice Gallery,
One thing I have to say, besides the utilitarian aspect of a long bed, it just looks proportionally right, not too squat, but nice and sleek and powerful.

BTW, did you level your ride? the back end looks lower than mine.

Hey!!!! I'm here

'04 F150 scab 4x4, 8' box LARIAT

I agree, if a truck doesn't have an 8' box, what good is it?? I am a contractor and it is absolutely essential.

This is my 3rd F150 in this configuration. When looking for a new truck in the newer body style, I had heard that they made a few lariats and went on a quest and finally found this one in Canada. I really like it (except for the 7 lug wheels). I put a set of "wheelskins" on it for $50 and it helped a lot. I would like to put nice set of wheels on (chrome preferably) but am not excited about what I've found and hate to settle but might have to.

I think we should have our own section. FTW has a 7700# HD section but it would be nice to have our own 04-present HD section.

Nice to know there are others out there

Does anyone want my 7 lug wheels? I took them off in order to put the truck on the market.

Depends on what sort of work you do. I am in I.T., and with the tailgate down a server rack fits just fine in the bed of my truck. (or 40 dekstops, keyboards, and mice, or...) I think for contractors, and plumbers, who work with materials that come in 8 foot lengths, an 8 foot bed makes sense. But for most everybody else it doesn't.

Anyway, my Supercab 6.5 foot bed is hard enough to park, I can't imagine adding an extra 1.5 feet to its length...

And you got a similar deal on your rig that I did on mine... I couldn't be happier...
