Some New Mods

I did the amber lens removal... not the greatest way to get a cleared out headlight but it saves you some cash (for a little while), painted my nerf bars dsg, and got a westin bullbar but took the skid plate off...

Looks great!! I would like to see it with the skid plate - I think it would match your chrome accents well. It seems to blend (almost too well) with your front end and you can barely see it. It still looks great!

Did you scratch the inside of your headlight lenses when removing/breaking out the reflectors?

Did you bake the amber out? or did you take apart the head light?

Truck looks better and better everytime you post. Give us some more info on the amber lens removal. Also the DSG nerf bars add a nice touch. Did you do it yourself?

The lens removal was a real pain in the ***. i scratched up the inside of my headlight but i figured i'd try it before i bought some new ones.

first you have to remove the headlight and all the bulbs.
stick a screwdriver into the corner bubls hole and press out the lens (held in the with clips)
wiggle the lens through the side of the headlight so it falls to where the headlight bulb goes in.
take two pairs of needle noes pliers and brake it into pieces to remove it from the whole.
kind of a ****ty way of doin things but like i said better than payin $200 for a new set.

duplicolor sells this wheel paint at advance auto and they've got a color identical to dsg and i wet sanded the semi-chrome(whatever they call it) nerf bars and put one layer of that paint on them. then i came back and did two layers of the clear coat wheel paint. hopefully so it will be stronger. i let it cure for 7 days and i've kicked slid out of the truck a couple times and no harm yet but we'll see. rattle can painting has never last long for me.

thanks for the comments. i'm still debatin on gettin the bullbar painted dsg and the skid plate black though and ordered some lariat flares last night too i'll post pics when i get them on

Truck looks good. I have been thinking about buying new headlights, but after reading this thread, I will do like you did. How is the bull bar mounted? Is it mounted where the tow hooks are? Can you have tow hooks and the buul bar?

yeah it mounts to the tow hooks holes and you can't put them back on. you can get a front mount receiver and have that as a tow point

Got the flares on

I got these off of ebay, ones with the 3m tape, but i bought some new plugs and drilled holes in the wheel side of them. They are worth 100 bucks i guess.
It's dirty, but here are the pics. I'll get some more when my fx2 grill gets done from paint.
