How much power loss

hey guys, i will be needing new tires soon and want some bigger meat. I have 33s now. 35s would be awesome but would i lose that much power with the stock gears, 3.73. I have a leveling kit and add a leaf so 35s would fit. So the question is do you lose that much power or are gears the way to go?

If I need gears I'm thinking 4.10

You will not lose much power no. Low end will be different but with a lightweight A/T you shouldn't notice anything but better highway mileage...and seldom low end loss.

There would be no point in only going up 'one' gear ratio, go with the 4.56s!

leave 'em stock....those gears are fine for a 35" tire, plus we all know that the trucks have plenty of power to turn them big ole things over w/out a problem....leave it stock and ride....

Who knows...you might even get some better mileage!...._motes

i noticed after i put 35's w/3.73gears on mine that the trans seemed to hunt a little more for gears when tryin to get up and go. i added the edge and it seemed to help out.

so you guys really think that the 3.73 gears are enough for a 35" tire? i've been hesitant to go up to even a 33" without regearing

3" is a pretty big jump with no gear swap, imo, and my stock tires are even smaller--so are you agreeing that 35" tires are no problem with 3.73 axles?

i run 285/70/17 which is about a 33 with my 3:55 LS and can spin my tires over like its nothing. I have the Edge installed with level 2 for more low end torque. Can tell a bit of power difference
