4x4 question

weird thing happened today. coming home and got to my driveway which is really steep and snow covered i ended up putting the truck in 4 hi. ok heres the weird part i got to the turn in my driveway and the back wheels started spinning almost as if i was only in 2wd but i know i was in 4x4. so my question is, does this sound normal for the rear tires to spin and not the front? i hadnt ever experienced this in a 4x4 until now seems all the times before if the rear broke loose so did the front

My guess is it wasn't actually engaged yet. Sometimes it takes a little to engage and for the hubs to lock out.

I'd see if it happens...

I've never experienced/heard of that before.

If 4X4 is engaged then that should not of happened regardless of the conditions you've described. I'd say you may have been in 4X4 as far as the dial/display was concerned, but as far as the actual wheels engaging, that may have been a different story.

Keep an eye on it and see the boys at Ford if need be.

Stay safe in the snow.
