how to tell if i have the audiophile system?

well i was reading up more on the stx's and i know that there was a option for the 6 disc cd changer with the audiophile sound system. i know i have the 6 disc cd changer radio, and i know my stereo has more tone then other 04's but would there be a subwoofer? or would it just be stronger speakers in my rear doors since i have the single cab? pics would actually help me alot lol

Audiophile systems have a sub woofer. Not sure where in a standard cab? The back of the stereo will have 3 plug in's vice 2 on a standard ford stereo.

look behind the seat. If it has the audiophile there will be a plastic enclosier that houses the subwoofer. That is the easiest way to tell.

This is what an audiophile sub looks like in a scab or a screw

Go to this ebay auction and look at the photos of the rear of the stereo and you will see 3 plug in's. The small one is for the audiophile sub.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ford-...spagenameZWDVW

ridge,

I just did this mod this past weekend. There is more to it than just a Sub-woofer. Since you are a Regular Cab, the Sub-Woofer is different that a SCAB/SCREW...your sub will mount on the floor vice the seat brackets as pictured above...make sure you get the right part number. You have to upgrade your front door speakers which are 1 inch Tweeters and 4 inch Mids w/ Crossovers. Rear speakers are the same. IF you use a Non-Audiophile HU, it's going to sound like crap...trust me, there is a HUGE difference between the two in sound quality.

If you need more info, LMK.

I had the Audiophile in my '05 Lariat. By far the best factory sound system of any vehicle I have ever owned or driven.

I love my audiophile in my 05. To me its sounds better than the Bose I had in my Duramax.

Dadsscrew,

Even all the way around at 44 inches from the floor to the upper part of the wheel well. Just 2 inches shy of a 6 inch suspension lift but saved a couple grand.

I do agree...this system(Audiophile) is an awesome sounding factory system.

Take care guys,
