Cracked the 4R70W again

I have an '04 f150, I have blown the transmission(4r70w) twice in it now and now I'm pursuing changing the transmission completely. What exactly is linked in the computer system between the engine and transmission? Would a new transmission controller allow me to change the transmission or would their be some disagreement in the computer system between the engine and transmission? Is their a new efi computer, pcm, for the new modular 5.4L. What other transmissions would bolt directly to my motor, what adapter plates are avaliable? Can they be custom made by someone?

-don't factor in transfercase or the driveshafts fitting

It sounds like your transmissions cooling system isnt performing, the 4R75W/E is a strong transmission for a stock unit. But with anything, heat can cause failure. I see you have added a new front bumper. Where did you relocate the stock aux cooler ? And what other modifications did you do for added cooling capicity ?

HAv you called Jasper engines and transmissions??? they do offer what thy call monster transmissions I beleive. HD transmissions I know they make one for th 4R100 give them a buzz and It wouldnt hurt to have a decent size cooler.

would the 4r100 directly bolt in and be ready to go, any computer problems? is their a stronger bellhousing for this transmission since I have cracked it both times.

Yes, I read something about these monster transmissions. If I remember correctly it was around $3000 for ready to bolt on tranny and about $1000 for a kit to convert you trans. I think it said that it maxes out the testing machine, so its probably pretty good. Maybe get an edge and set a trans. temp. warning.

Good Luck

P.S. You have a bad *** truck. Did you make that bumper?
