Exclamation False Starts

So I've had my truck for a month and a half now and I'd say about once or twice a week it has what I'd call a "false start", acts like its gonna turn over and then nothin. After the first time it happened I just figured I wasn't turnin the key all the way so since then I've made sure that I do, but it has still happened. Has anyone else had this problem and how serious is it?

If its turning over, but doesnt catch and you let go of the key in the time frame of when it would have normally started, as long as it does start its ok IMO.

Mine every now and then will turn over and I let go of the key in aticipation of it starting. If this happens, I have to turn it for a few seconds and it catches. I dont think this is a problem.

FYI a TSB is out there for "something" like this

TSB 06-19-14 NO CRANK / STARTER TERMINAL FATIGUE

ISSUE:
Some vehicles may exhibit a no crank condition due to an open circuit in the starter relay to starter motor circuit at the starter motor connection.

yea I mean it doesn't seem like a big deal because it starts right up after the second try just kinda annoying for a brand new truck to be doin somethin like that. Butttt it's under warranty so I guess I'll let the dealer figure it out. Thanks for the input guys glad i'm not the only one that's had this problem.

My 2003 mustang gt did the same thing for about 2 - 3 years before I traded it off. It always did it after it had been turned off for about 3- 15 minutes or so. Basically the only time it would do it was when I stopped for gas or a quick trip inside the grocery store.

You might try waiting a second or two after turning the key to the run position before you move it to start. I read in one of the forums that no start may be due to the ecm waiting on input from different sources, such as the fuel pump, before starting.

Mine used to do it, and I've complained about it a few times and had my PCM re-flashed. I told my dealer about the TSB last time I was there. All they did was re-flash the PCM again. It's been fine for a few weeks now.

Bingo! Sometimes the electronics do not all respond instantaneously giving false readings.

Man, don't tell me this is starting on some 06's now. Sheesh!

Here's the thread that I have had running for some time now, it may offer you some advise on what to do.

Good luck!
