What is up with my MPG?!?!
If you've only had it 2 weeks then the adaptive programming in the computer hasn't had time to maximize the fuel economy based on your driving habits. Much less, if you haven't burned a whole tank of fuel. It normally takes about 4-6 tanks for you to get the best mpg. My truck started at 12 mpg when new and now gets around 15-16 in town. If it runs fine then give it some time to adapt.
I wouldnt complain...Mostly all of my driving is city driving and with my mods I am lucky to get 11-12 mpg....With these trucks you pay to play....Not a secret
With all the snowstorms around here lately I am getting probably about 10 mpg...I expect it with a 6000# truck, and mods.

The EDGE is a dull blade on your sharp truck.
06 SCREW Mileage
I just hit 2100 miles on my 06 Lariat SCREW 4X4. My commute is 80 miles a day with about 60 being highway. I'm only getting about 13.5 MPG @ mostly
70 MPH.
However, I traded in a '99 Lariat Super Duty Crew, which was getting about one MPG less (12.5), but I'm paying .30 cents per gallon less on gas vs. diesel.
Plus after driving a Super Duty for the past 7 years, I feel like like I'm in a luxury car!!!! Liked my SD love my 150!!!

The idle shouldn't make that much difference to the MPG.
I have a scangauge that I used before getting an Edge programmer.
The scangauge reported using 0.4 gallons per hour at idle, 0.5 if I have the AC on.
So 10 minutes of idle isn't going to alter much.

All you guys with lifted trucks and 35"+ tires...try this for me.
Go 52mph on the freeway with cruise control ONLY. Set cruise control @ 55mph and then slowly work your way down with the +/- buttons on the steering wheel, those control your cruise control speed. Get down to 52mph, and reset your MPG readout and let us know your results. Any sort of incline will damage my mileage pretty bad so make sure it's flat. I like to know my truck is CAPABLE of great mileage if I really need it, which I always do so I travel slow on the freeway. Well worth it imo for the daily school commute. I guess winter blend is out because I am getting my best fuel mileage ever. If you don't get 20+mpg you're doing something wrong or have minimal mods...or there is significant wind, cheap gas, etc...I'm running 91 octane tune from Troyer and have many engine mods to boot...but I have always been capable of decent mileage. Maybe I'm running lean, but it's fantastic mileage on the freeway. Around town however is another story, no matter how I drive it ends up to be 8-9mpg so I just smash anyway.

But a "tuner" that makes the vehicle take that long to get good mpg....

By the way, shouldnt you be a member of the OSC, not the OCS?

If you let it idle for 10 mins a day at least 6 times a week you are using a half a gallon of gas per week. That is costing you about .25 - .30 mpg if that matters to you. To me, I would rather get 15 mpg and be warm rather than get 15.3 and get pneumonia from freezing my *** off for the first 10 minutes of my morning commute. Its not very cold where I live, it rarely gets below freezing, so I'm sure people who live where it is really cold second that idear.

[QUOTE=BrokeJoker]Ive only had this truck 2 weeks and its getting time to fill it up soon.QUOTE]
Not picking on you, but that's funny right there (to me). I fill up two to three times A WEEK!
Even in the negative temperatures we have been experiencing, I still average 13 to 14. Normal is 15 to 16. After Xcal and AF1... well, we'll see... The temperatures need to get up before I can reflash the PCM.

I am having the same MPG drama, mines pushing 9 mpg, and horrible. Mine is a 04 Supercrew, 5.4 triton, I think the only mod on my truck is K&N Filter with intake system, does that mess with it all? I would take it off and trade someone for stock if it does?
