MY SHOP JUST QUOTED 199 EACH. I told them it seems high and that I had seen them for 150 each. He said that was below his cost so essentially I'll just buy them from performance. They are a straight forward install correct. How long for anyone that has done them and any special tools?

Dude you are going to be paying to much. I bought my 5100s (yes 0-2" front lift, silver w/black boot) from topguncustomz.com for 390.00 shipped. I stated the price before and double checked the website. They are listed for $370 w/o shipping. The came pretty quick and I am very happy. Why pay $199 ea at your local shop?
Having the local Ford stealership install them and align the front is where I got raped, so save the $$$ where you can

NO I'm not. I'll be paying the same as you because I told him it was too high. He didn't back down so I'll just order them when I get some money. He also said he would charge 75 for the install if I bough them how much did your dealer charge>?

I paid waaaay more then that for install and alignment. I think they went with labor per hour which was about $60 and I got back in about 4hrs so do the math. You are definantly are getting a good deal there, enjoy.

Got a question...

The ebay ad says.

This is a set of 4 New Bilstein 5100 Series Monotube Gas Shocks for the 04-07 Ford F-150 4x4. Designed for stock height or to level the front of these trucks. The fronts are zinc-plated and install like factory replacement shocks and are designed to correct the factory rake. The OEM spring seat can be positioned to provide no front lift or provide 2" of front lift (the front shock has 2 spring seat settings). The result is a level front to rear ride height. An extremely simple and effective solution, offering increased wheel travel while accommodating a 33" tire. (2) front and (2) rear. Front coil springs are retained. The rears are zinc plated to match the front. These Bilstein shocks are brought to you by Top Gun Customz.
What does the bold mean? the oem spring seat is on the truck correct? Or is this on the new shock? I'm confused.

The spring seat is on the factory coilover assembly. . of course, you transfer the spring seat to the new Bilstein 5100s. The Bilstein strut has different snap ring settings for the spring seat which determine the height.

Heres a picture as well. .

Check out the diagram halfway down this page and see where the "lower spring seat" is. On the Bilstein shocks there are 2 or 3 different rings that will allow for the lower spring seat to be positioned in different locations. If it is positioned toward the top - you will achieve more lift. This will also compress the spring more - but this will not result in a harsher ride. It changes the springs pre-load, but not the spring rate.

I am still kicking myself for not buying these off ebay when the first came out with the 5100 (yes, the 2" lift). $160.00 for both front shocks. ouch. From there, the prices soared.
Am hoping they come down again.

what are the part numbers for the front and back shocks... the blisteins that is...

i also have a question... i have a level kit up front, would it be better to take it off and put the blistein levels on or leave it on and just not use the raise feature?
