Excalibur Alarm

I posted this in the "Other" Aftermarket section, but that section just doesn't seem to get the viewership this section does, hope the mods don't mind me putting this in here also.

Anyways, I was wondering if anyone had the Excalibur alarm system? I stopped by a shop today and he quoted me a price of $299.99 for the system and installation. It has remote start.

Been some years since I heard that name. To me Excaliber systems have always been cheap. One thing you will find is that the Excaliber will not adapt to the keypad on your door. Basically if you punch your code and then open the door make sure to be ready to grab your remote.

Travis at kcautosound.com sells prewired Code Alarm systems with step-by-step installtion guides. The Code Alarm Elite series systems will adapt to your keypad so that you can arm and disarm from the door keypad.

yeah, the code alarms are pretty nice. You also want to make sure that the price they gave you includes the securiloc/passkey bypass unit. If not, you'll be in for a surprise when you go to pay.

Thanks guys and I will probably just go with the Viper system.

For those running Viper systems, what is the best one out there? Thanks

Any good alarm that has two-way remotes will alert you. That is the main feature to look for. I have an Ungo 5500 and the alarm has alerted me from 3/4 of a mile away. DEI (Directed Electronics Inc) pretty much owns all of the old alarm makers from way back when. I have had both Clifford and Ungo alarms.

take a look at www.directed.com and go through their different alarm brands. I personally don't like the Vipers, hornets, and stingers. All of them used to use the same colored wires (pink with white stripe) for the starter disable etc... it never changed. Clifford, Avital, Ungo, Code Alarm and others all used different colors from model to model.

what part of MS are you in?
