Wow my first Ford

Well, this is my first Ford, 2004 Screw Lariat 4x4. I have to say I do love the looks of this truck but the problems I've had are starting to mount up and weight heavy on my mind. Cam Phasers, brakes, drive shaft, and now just yesterday my tranny blows up. All work is warranty but all the problems are starting to sour my taste for my truck. Now I almost have to get extended warranty if I keep the truck because who knows whats next. My first Ford may be my last.
Sorry just venting I'm driving a rental Taurus----life sucks.

They are still renting the Ol' Ford Taurus, huh? I thought they got rid of those when they introduced the 500. Yeah, that must be pretty crappy. They could've at least given you something cool to drive.

You know that there are always problems with a new version or major update to any product. They say that you should never buy the first ones off the production line. I bought the first year of the Expedition ( don’t remember the exact year ) and had lots of little issues like a front drive axle that would spew fluid when it got hot. They tend to fix those over time.

I love my 06 as well! ! ! !

You kiddin'? They'll pimp those tauruses until they fall apart! I dropped mine off for servicing yesterday and begged for at least a fusion. I got a taurus wagon.

Well...instead of posting the equivelent of "I have no problems with my F-150" and " you should not have bought an 04"..... , for what it is worth, I had initial problems with my 2004: replaced front disc's, rebuilt diff, replaced throttle body...now it has been over 2 years and my truck has been trouble free... once things get taken care of I believe you will be fine.
As far as a blown tranny, that was not a characteristic of the early builds.
