AF1 woes

Question AF1 woes

As some might know, im having trouble with the install. I dont have any instructions, and i am wondering how the heat shield is attached to the fender?
Everything else fits greta since I got the parts i was missing.

It doesn't attach to the fender.

AF1=air force one, as in intake.

So the shield that surrounds the filter, just sits there? What about the grommets that came with it?

Should be a couple of holes in the bottom of the shield. There are two grommets that come with the AF1 that slide into the holes in the top of the fender well where your stock air box was fastened with the push type connectors. Slide the gromets into those holes and then attach with the screws and washer that come with the unit through the holes in the bottom of the shield....

Look at the pics in this link: http://www.airaid.com/pdf/400-140-1.pdf It is held on the same way, even though the instructions are for the airaid. #8 and #11 show the pics.
