Loud Whining Noise

Well I usally park in the carport anyways last night I parked on my driveway which is on a hill. So I put the park brake on. Well overnight the temp got to about 24 degrees. I go to leave for work this morning realeasing parking brake and as soon as I put it in drive and go down the road there is a loud whining noise like something is stuck. It gets louder the faster I go. After about 3-4 miles of doing it it quit. And all was good but I thought it could be the parking brake but it wasnt trying to slow down really. Anybody have an idea on what it was? Thanks

Mine does that too, temps got rather cold here for the first time since I've had it. Kind of freaks you out the first time.

when yours does that, will it sound for a second or two then go away then come back a little quicker when you start rolling....like the faster you go the quicker the sound for a few revalutions of the wheel.....? mine just started doing that this year when it gets around 30 or less.....but not always.....today i actually pushed down lightly on the brake pedal when i started hearing the noise and it made no difference. thought it was brake related or possibly warped rotor? but again, doesn't always do it....anyone get it fixed please inform everyone...

Hey Fellas,

Well I have about 5 threads from last winter talking all about this. The dealer thinks it's the fuel injectors and the noise is brought on my cold weather.

I've taken it to three dealerships and each has refused to do anything saying it is completely normal (great service huh). We all have trucks that shreek in the cold weather.

Mine has gone away in the cold temps since I put on the AF1 intake and did custom tuning. However, it was down around 2F yesterday and then negative temps and it started doing it again. Thus I think the AF1 and the custom tuning just lowered the tolerable temperatures for the truck.

Was the little lady in the truck by chance? I too have experienced the same thing at times.
