Best sound system money can buy

I know that this isn't the place for this post, but you guys seem to be on the same page with me. Almost like on any other Forum site I go right to the off-road part-because I'm not really interested in 2WD LOWERED trucks. I'm a high-flyer. I like 'em lifted.

Anyway, in your guy's opinion, what's the best combination of a sound system.

There is no correct answer to your question. You really need to qualify it. Are you going for volume, quality, soundstage, etc...

Even with the qualifications provided, you'll have a hundred different opinions on what's best.

I don't really have anything in mind to be honest. I listen mostly to classic rock, but I like toys. I guess I'm going for quality, and maybe something with a lot of bells and whistles.

"Best sound system money can buy"

I think you need to qualify that by saying HOW MUCH money you your planning to spend...if the sky is the limit then you can easily spend more than your truck cost.

Just like RamSS/T said, you can spend thousands on a good sounding system easily. What sounds good to one person might not sound good to the next, it sounds like you need to find an audio shop near you and listen to some things for yourself.

Its been a long time since I did any systems, but I dropped $10k in a 96 Camry one time. $2k was just in wire. You do need to ask those questions that everyone else has said. When I was doing systems in my vehicles and in a business, the most important thing to me was clarity. Everyone then was all about big bumps, but you couldn't tell what they were saying. For your mids and highs, crucial in classic rock, I would definitely look at some Infinitys, Kappas if possible. For your sub, you might look at some PowerClass PPI 10"s and amp wise, you might look at two different amps. They are old, but a SoundStream Reference 4402 or 4404 would be perfect for your mids and highs. Sub wise, get a PPI amp to match the sub, if you go PPI. Otherwise look at a current model Fosgate. Classic rock isn't going to have a lot of bass, but if you get into some of the newer alternative rock/speed metal, a PPI sub and amp setup is A1, IMO.

Very True! Amazingly enough, you can spend mega bucks on a system and it could still sound really bad. Seen it happen. Pay attention to detail and invest in some good sound deadening material. I like Stinger roadkill myself, but Dynamat is a good product also.

Put it this way then. I have a Mastercraft X-STAR, I want the truck to sound about the same. But I don't want to use any funny marine things in my truck.

1)headunit: Pioneer 7800MP $316.96 www.cardomain.com

2) speakers: basically any brand 3-way speakers pionner makes good ones so does eclipse but get 3 way or 4 way since these trucks dont have speakers at ear level you need a speaker with a big range of sound i bought 3 ways and they sound sweet $212.24

3) dual 10''s sub box, i bought mine on ebay $110

4) subs: Rockford Fostgate Punch 2''s $140 www.cardomain.com

5) mono sub amp: Boss Chaos CH850M hits hard and clean and it was cheap too! $64.95 www.cardomain.com although they were out of stock last time i looked which was about 2 days ago.

6) i installed of it myself so i didnt have installtion cost oh and i got a dash kit and wiring harness free from cardomain.com becuase i bought a headunit from them
goodluck

the shop i previosly worked for has done over 50k stereo systems. If you want serious you can get it. check out the mb quart line up they have a price range for everyone. stay away from there amps though. look in to some / series jl, they work very well together.

amazing sounding speakers. also buy a 5.25" not a 5x7 for clarity the round speaker will give you a more true sound.

I would definitly take it to profeshionals if you are going spend some cash. remember beat them up on price markup is nearly 100%

the system we did in the cayanne could be turned up to the point where you could yell at the person at the seat next to you, and they woulndt hear you. however it was so clear it would not hurt my ears.

good luck.

youll be spending lik 10 grand if u want the best

rainbow makes amazing components and have some sets that range up to 2000 bucks for one component system.

so you got 2 component systems thats 4000 plus 2 amps for them another 1000 if not more, wireing kits are 200 with all that, youd prob get 2 12's which can easy spend 1500 on plus amps for them since they are so powerfull another 1000 or more, plus a box, 150-200, wiring them up another 200, plus labor.

ALL THAT WOULDNT EVEN BE WHAT YOU SEE AT SHOWS WITH 6 SUBS AND UP AND PAIRS OF COMPOENNTS UP TO 6 PAIRS PLUS 10 AMPS AND ALL THE NIFTY CUSTOM WORK DONE. BUT THEN AGAIN I JUST SAID WITH THE BEST STUFF YOU CAN BUY, BUT EVEN SO THATS JUST FOUR DOORS, AMPS, AND SOME NICE SUBS.
