Opinions wanted...taking lift off?
Opinions wanted...taking lift off?
Just need some opinions. I'm about to purchase a new diesel Superduty to replace my truck now. Question is this: I just put the rize kit and new wheels/tires at the end of this past summer, so would I come out better moneywise to put the truck back to stock, sell it, and sell the lift/wheels/tires separately, OR ask a much higher price for the way it sits now?
(note...putting it back to stock would require a small amount of welding for one bracket that had to be cut off)
I should have probably bought the other truck back before I invested the money for the lift/wheels/tires, but I was still hopeful about the '08 Superdutys. Now that I see exactly what they will look like, I'm sticking with the 07's.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Matt

I would say take it off and sell everything seperately if you want to recover as much of that investment as possible...
p.s. You don't want the new 6.4L Powerstroke and the new interior of the 08 Superduty???

Part it all out. Everything is worth more money separately than if you left it as one unit.
I did this to a snowmobile 2 years ago. I was asking $3500 OBO and would have taken $3000 for it. But by the time I took all the aftermarket stuff off (SLP pipe, Simmons skis, brand new track with 96 studs, clutch kit, SLP air box and more) and sold all them, then sold the sled for $2500 I actually ended getting $3400 out of the whole deal. No one wanted a sled that was modified in any way, but once it was basically back to stock and lowered the pirce, then I had all kinds of calls on it.

I'd take the lift off and sell it, you'll get a lot more money this way.
Please show me a picture of what you are talking about. My understanding was that the piece that was cut can not be seen very easily.
Do you realize that you have factory welds?
I hate to say it but factory welds arn't that great. My welds look much better than factory welds.
