2007 OEM Tray with auxiliary audio input jack???

Hello,
Does anyone know the part number for the new OEM Tray with auxiliary audio input jack that is on the 07 F150s dash? Does anyone know if it will fit in the 04-06 model f150s? I am assuming it will, but I seached the forums and could not find any threads on it. Any info would be helpful. Thanks

the tray will fit,
but you will prolly need the 07 radio that will recognize the aux input. previous radios only utilized the aux input for the factory dvd, or the recently released aftermarket aux boxes (PIE, etc) that backward engineered the code for enabling aux.

Thanks for the info, I found some info about it talking to a parts guy at a dealership. He says that the tray lists for like $150 (Expensive if you ask me for just a plastic tray), but that the cable that attaches it to the radio is part of the main wire loom, so that kinda kills it there. I could order the tray but then I would not be able to hook it up. I am about to install the new factory Nav system so if I had the cable it would work. I am wondering if I might be able to rig a PIE as the go between for the tray and the head unit. I just want the nice looking aux connection so I can keep it all stock looking.

you could buy the PIE. it's connector "T's" in between the radio and the factory harness. you could then drill 2 small holes in the tray for the RCA connectors or even drill one hole and isntall a coax to rca jack harness and your tray would look almost stock except not having the bump where your new aux jack is.

or drill/grind a small slot for the wire to pass down the edge of the tray to the PIE box.

you coudl buy an older tray from a junk yard if you wanted to keep one original for future sale, etc.

the pie adapter is about $90 now and gets you the same input as the 07's with their new aux jack

just some ideas.

if you are doing this for an ipod. the pie (IPod to ford04can) adapter uses the bottom connector of the ipod which allows the ipod to stay charged. the 07 factory jack does not.

Thanks for the ideas, do you have any links on where to buy some of the jacks that would look flush? I found one by SCOSCHE, but that was really all I could find, not really flush though. Here is a link to an ebay auction that had the SCOSCHE adapter:

I tried my local Radio shack, but I could not find anything nice for an install in in the dash or the tray.
Thanks

Thanks for the info, but I am actually trying to keep it stock. If you just spliced into your harness with some RCAs and then into an aftermarket radio, does that mean you cut off the little part that would have connected into your stock head unit's Aux port? If so, would you be willing to sell it if you still have it? That would probaby solve my problem if I had that plug.
Thanks

When I originally inquired about this part, I was told that there were two options for parts according to Fords diagram of this area. One of the parts was about $50 and the other was about $170 (List prices). When I heard this, I was like forget it, I don't need that tray that bad. Well After thinking it over, I deceided that I might want the tray after all. So I contacted the parts guy I normally use (His name is Ed at parts@y2kford.com) and asked him what his discounted price would be, and he quoted me a pretty good price , for the part that was listed at $180. Before he ordered it he deceided to call Ford just to make sure he was ordering the correct part. They actually told him to order the cheaper part, and that would be the part we were looking for. We both thought it could not hurt, so I paid for the cheaper part, and it turned out to be the correct part. So I figured I would post my findings, pictures and part number. So you guys don't have to do the run around like I did (I went to a few local dealers and they were not much help, Ed took the time to help though.) So here is a link to my gallery with the pics. https://www.f150online.com/galleries....cfm?num=13028
The part number on the box was: 7L3Z-15042A82-AA, on the actual tray it has: 7L34 15044A92 AB3JA6 (Printed on a sticker on the back) and engraved in the plastic it has : 5L34-15044A92-ABW. I would go with the one on the box, there is picture of the label in the gallery.

Now I still have a problem though, now that I have the tray with the aux plug, how do I connect it to the radio? I need a cable and from what Ed came up with, the cable is in the main loom. Since I do not want to purchase a full loom just to get one wire I came up with one solution. Since the plug can be removed, I can install my own plug to the tray and run it through a PIE aux adapter. However, I would rather use the oem cable instead of using the PIE (I already have a PIE hooked up). So if anyone out there has any idea about this cable, I would love to hear it. I am going to call Mark "nothinbutaford" tomorrow and see if he has any ideas. He was able to get me the Sirius cable I needed, which I was told was part of the main wire loom as well. Anyways, I hope you guys find some of this useful.

I wish i would of caught this thread earlier...but...

Serv Part#: 7L3Z 15042A82 AA

Eng Part#: 7L34 15044A92 AB3JA6

Now what you bought has a list price of ~$40. There is NO other item in that selection that has a list price of that high ammount. For 2007 there are only two parts #; AM/FM/Clock Radio (the previous tray from 2004-2006) and then all CD based radios have the new one with the plug. So where "your guy" got his information the first time baffles me.

As for your delima with wiring i suggest you get a pigtail from ford and wire it to the device with the correct wiring diagram.

Well he looked at the Diagram (I saw it to, very vague) and came up with the two parts when he entered it in the computer. He saw the same thing that the two dealers I visited saw, two parts one cheap one expensive and none of them knew for sure which was which. They had the same diagrams, and for the tray it had a reference number. When Ed and the two other parts guys entered this reference number from the diagram into their parts computer, it brought up two parts. One was really expensive and the other was not. I also found and older thread where someone ran into the same thing. He was quoted $180 for the tray. So regardless I finally got what I needed at the price I was looking for. Not sure why it was easy for you find, but the 3 ford part dealers I talked with (Including ED) had the problems finding the exact part I needed.

As for your suggestion for a pig tail, how would I go about getting one? The parts guys at the dealers as well as the guy I used aren't the most knowledgeable when it comes to these weird part requests. I am assuming if they knew of the pig tail option they would have suggested it when I as about the wiring to connect the tray. Any suggestions on where to acquire this pig tail would be great.
Thanks

I have the tray you have pictured and I figured out the wiring, I am working on plugs for the factory radio so I can set up some kits. Right now I can wire the jack to a set of rca's, so if you have an aftermarket radio with an aux rca input this will work. Efiguero I turned on the line in on your nav so this input will work.

Cool, I called you and got your VM, when you get a chance can you holler back at me. Need to get that cable then, also hoping to get the tracking number for the Nav unit. Left my number on your VM. Thanks!
