Squeaky rear window
Squeaky rear window
I have searched but cant find it. My 05 crew has developed a squeaky rear window. It sounds like the whole thing is loose and the rubber seal is making noise. I seem to remember a tsb having to do with this and the fix being to use some tape and lubricant. I am taking it in but would like a little ammo even though my dealer has been real good. Thanks
Had the same problem this summer. Turns out there is a tsb on it. NOt sure of the number, but it just involves them re-lubing the window gasket. They just have to inject it under the window liner. Pretty simple, but still a pain. I got mine fixed, and now it seems that the sliding window rattles. Might be just dirt, but it is annoying.

It hasn't done it the last few days, although it has been raining too.
I need to drive it tonight and see what it sounds like. They were supposed to fix mine the middle of December but the temps got up above 50* and have stayed there until this cold snap. We agreed to wait until it got cold again.
I took the service manager for a ride during the last cold snap since it was supposed to be fixed last winter but they couldn't recreate the problem once they got their hands on it. I'm sure when the truck warmed up sitting in the service bay, it probably wouldn't squeek when they took it for a spin. He heard it the night I took him for a ride though. Sounded like the whole back glass was ready to fall out. Annoying as hell unless you are driving down a perfectly smooth road. Those are few and far between around here.
I just had this fixed on my 05. I don't have the power slider, and they told me the TSB only had to do with the power units. However, my dealer spoke to Ford hotline and it was decided to re-shim the back window. I didnt ask what all that involved, but I know the headliner came out and the back seat also. Thank goodness for warranty. And yes, the rattle is completely gone.
Mine seems to only do it when it is humid and only when it is open. It does not do it all the time, but when it does, boy is it annoying. My truck is out of warranty (48,000 miles) has any one gone in to get this fix outside of warranty? If so any ideas on the cost?
