Broken Window Control Switch

I searched the forums for a little and couldn't find any posts regarding my problem...Driver window switch broken! I have a 2005 Supercrew FX4.

It still works but not very well. I've been noticing my window switch getting a little less responsive over the past few months, but now it pretty much doesn't work at all. You have to hit the switch just the right way to make it do anything. When you go to hit the switch either up or down the button doesn't have the same feel as the other 3 windows anymore. I can rule out fuses as it still works when you hit the switch "just right", my guess is I need a new switch.

I'm past my 30,000 warranty but am still within the range of my extended warranty, which has a $100 deductable.

Does anyone think this is an easy problem to fix, in other words I can fix it my self for less than $100 and with little time spent?

Or should I just take it to the dealer and give them the $100 deductable and have them fix it?

Any opinions greatly appreciated.

Probably not worth going through your extended warranty and paying a 100.00 deductible for a 50.00 part....

Is that for all four switches or just the driver switch? Is it all one unit?

I agree, but I need to make sure that's my only problem first.

At fordparts.com they go for under $45.00 and they are easy to replace. Lift the front corner (rounded corner) of the switch panel and pull toward the center of the truck at the same time. Unplug switch and remove from switch panel. Replace in reverse order. Will take all of 5 minutes to do!

Thanks for everyone's help, I ordered a new one from the dealer earlier (before I saw chrisadams's post).

Looks like just a wiring harness to the bottom of the window switch after the cover pulls off like explained above. Thanks again, I'll tell you if this solves my problem.

Got it fixed! I had a friend pull some strings with the dealer and get it for me for $48.

mwheue your directions were exactly right, except it only took like 3 minutes!

Thanks again everyone.
