anyone use neon in thier sub box?

well i am going to build my own sub box for 1 12 that fits under the back seat in my xcab but i want the front(where your feet are if u sit in the back seat) of the box to be smoke plexiglass with neon behind it ,i bought two 10inch neon tubes but for some reason i think LED's would be bettter since they are brighter ,any thoughts on this set up? ,anyone done somehting like this ? ,thanks

You might be better off in going over to the Subwoofer and speakers forum... You would probably get more replies on this subject.

I don't know, since I'm not gay.

But I'm older than 15, so I don't understand how neon helps the a subwoofer, either.

An ounce of image is not equal to a pound of performance...

Neon is ok, but go with the LEDs. They are just as bright, not as likely to damage and will pull way less current. We used to use neon and the transformers would sometimes induce hum into the system if not placed correctly. LED's will not give you as much trouble in the long run.

cool thanks for the info,i am not looking to have the whole interior glow ,just alittle bit is all ,nothing cheesy ,neons/leds look gay on the outside of a truck but can look kinda cool when done right for systems imo ,i'll try to find a sample to show u guys what i mean
