start with a 250 or 350
the 250 350 will not be much better. While they do offer a easier to lift, stronger suspension it is a much heavier truck esp with the diesel motor. I believe the f-150's perform very well offroad. Decent flex stock, high air intake, decent skid plates, good limited slip and good power out of the v-8's

That's just cruel man...

I probably shouldn't have taken an off-roading truck to a performance shop. I love the guys at Troyer but I suspect they don't do much off-roading. It's just a different mind set.

The super duties aren't any better off-roading..in fact I'd argue they are worse.

They are stronger but no better at off-roading.

No they were gonna run it but they stopped when they saw my transmission fluid had dirt in it... they didn't want to risk it. It was to protect my truck not their equipment. It was disappointing but it was my own doing.

I don't blame them I just do different things with my truck. I don't care what my 1/4 mile time is...I want to know if I can make it across that mud pit

Muddin is fun, but it has it's draw back's, The clean up... I too learned the hard way. Mudd and sand just grinds away on the seal's and bearings and brakes.

I agree with you. It's hard to get a 6000 lb. across the finish line...

I'm guessing there were no other 4x4's there to pull it straight out, so the towtrucks yanked it sideways- hence the breakage?

Almost game time...

You guys want to know why your insurance is so high? It's because fools who don't know what their truck is for go crash it up and then get their insurance to bail themselves out of their idiot mistakes. Have fun paying for someone else's lack of judgement.

Insurance high? I pay less than $100 to insure a 35k truck w/ GAP insurance and I am covered up to 10k for anything I tow. Get off this guys back, you think he is happy about how things turned out? Think he did this on purpose to screw the insurance company? Accidents happen on and offroad.

^^^^

I agree we have all made our share of stupid mistakes, this guy was just lucky enough that insurance is paying for it not him.

I screwed so many trucks up playing, fix them and try again. Thats the fun in it. get that lift and jump back on the horse.
