Need help with fuel filter please.

I am trying to change my my fuel filter and am stuck. I cant figure out how to remove the front connector. Here is a pic of it.

I got the back off with no problem. I have the removal tool and have tried to slide it into the front connector. Am I doing something wrong?

flip open the "fang" connector then use your tool to disconnect. The tool will disengage the barbs on the hose side, then pull the hose and tool forward while pulling the filter backward. It might be easier to remove filter from frame clip first. I can't remember if I did that first or not.

I think it is easier to leave the filter in the clamp until you have worked the tool into the end of the hose.

Nope, and you just saved $40 to $50. Amazing what they charge for that little feat!
