Only use my truck as a "luxury" vehicle and towing the Stang to the race track. I have a different car for the few days during the week I actually drive in to work and to run errands. It takes too long to wash/wax the truck.

your truck would look alot cleaner and more luxury if you got rid of that black bug guard. Or you could get one color matched or get one of those new chrome bug guards from Ford.

Everyone has an opinion.

I'm not fond of the chrome shields. They don't make a bug guard molded the same color as my truck (smokestone), so I would have to get it painted. Having many years and miles under my belt I can tell you that a painted bug guard will start looking like azz before too long. Why? I take frequent long distance trips in my truck. Lots of interstate miles. A painted bug guard would get chipped up in short order. Nothing too outrageous, but even the tiniest of ticks to a black bug guard painted a light color would stand out. Touching up in all the various places it gets chipped would eventually look awful.

So, I stuck with the blk Ford bug guard. Sure I'd love a smokestone bug guard, but not at the expense of dabbing it with touchup paint periodically.

Thanks for the suggestion.

PS: anyone have a suggestion on a paint that would stand up to highway miles? ie, not chip as easily as the the paint on the hood of a vehicle? If so, then perhaps I would look into it.

ATTENTION -------> I just got off the phone with a buddy of mine who owns a body shop. I asked if there was a durable paint for a plastic bugshield that would stand up to highway miles.

His suggestion was to get a CLEAR bugshield, and have the BACK side painted. Problem SOLVED!!!!! I am definitely going to start looking for a clear shield now that will fit my truck!!!!!

SteveVFX4 : Thanks for being the impetuous for making my truck look better!!!!!

sorry, I didn't add IMHO to my post (in my humble opinion...)

You could look into the Lund Intercepter bug guards. They come in clear and to color match them, you paint on the backside of them. So the paint is not directly being hit by road debris. I had one on my last truck for over 2 years and it held up just fine, although I don't take many long highway trips.

Thought about getting a F250 but seeing as how i dont really haul very heavy I didnt really need it.
A "Civic"? LOL, no way, I like sitting higher in traffic.....mine is a daily driver, on occasion i fill it with either dirt bikes or wood when we go out to the desert.

Bought mine as a daily driver. I also go off roading as much as I can. Sucks right now because I really need some tires and lift but it is still fun. Have only had the truck about 2 months and I still cringe a little when I scrape the ***** out of the bottom getting hung up on rocks. But hey, it's a truck and thats what it is made for. I also like doing burnouts and racing kids that think my big truck can't beat a Honda.

My truck is also a pavement queen. I have never owned anything but a truck. I do use it to pull trailers and haul something if a buddy needs help. But i am also to quick to get my truck in a mud hole when teh occasion rises. Plus its nice to sit above people in traffic and see what is going on. Most importantly i know that if i or any one close to me drives my truck, if there was a wreck, my truck would have a pretty good chance of winning, Thanks to the Strongest Frame in its Class!

Mine is a daily driver and weekend hauler. I tow a large Travel trailer in the spring, summer and fall. I do use the truck to haul tools around for a construction business on weekends.

Guess the majority of us Truck drivers need to quit our current jobs and get construction jobs...
