Just remember you cant get the Maxxis Buckshot 35" tire on a 17" wheel. Being that you have a xlt you should have the 17's as stated and sizes would be 315/70/17 or 35x12.50/17 for 35"s. The AS is aluminum no poly here. ANd on mine the 2.5" is a hair higher than the back which is what I wanted so later on Ill prolly add a AAL to get the rear a tad higher! Also in my pics there is a dip in the driveway right at the rear of the truck im gonna get better pics soon. Good luck.

 

i was actually considering swampers now, found a nice tire that i think would be a bit safer its a 34"x10.5x17 and for a 17" factory rim the 10.5 sounds safer and probally wont rub at all and online at tirepackage.com they are $134 a peice which isnt to bad for swampers anybody have any idea how they ride the only offroad tire i used before was on my jeep and those were 40" mickey thompson baja claws a little noisy but i never got stuck ...any pros and cons on the super swamper LTB

how long do swampers like this usually last....?

 

Three words; bias ply construction. This means they will be loud, feel unstable on the streets and not wear well. Only get them if all your truck will see is off road. There is a place for everything and the streets are not the place for bias ply tires.

 

so i take it as a no go on the swampers then i do alot of fishing and take alot of trails to get to them which are muddy and rough any suggestions on a nice meaty tire thats good for mud and street......i never thought choosing a tire would be so hard and i only liked the sampers cause of the size i like the 10.5 instead of the 12.5 cause im using stock rims for now and the 12.5 might be to much overlay on the rim and cause alot of rub

They do make a swamper in a Radial, but you're only going to get about 25K miles out of them and that's if you keep them rotated and balanced properly. The other drawback to the swampers is they are not that great a "wet" traction tire. If you go off-road so often that your truck never stays clean, then getting the swampers may be worth it....but if it's only every once in a while, you'd be better off getting an aggresive all-terrain like a BFG AT KO or the lesser-lasting Nitton Terra Graplers.
