On a stock headunit, it's a PITA to install it. I'd leave the wiring behind the headunit to the pros.

Its not that hard. I did everything all myself. Just take your time and it will be good to go. Crutchfield has really good installation instructions.

I bought a MTX amp with speaker level input and just tapped into the rear speaker wires running along the driver's door sill. I found the speaker wire colors by searching this forum. And I hooked my amp up to a 10" MTX sub in a supercrewsound.com box. I put the amp under my passenger seat. Pretty simple.

I did my own system, took all of 1 hour to do. The easiest way to run power wire BTW is to slip it threw the grommet on the firewall just behind the battery. here are some pics of my setup now although I'm changing it all out pretty soon.
My amp is in a custom hard wood box with 4 fans for cooling
2 12" jenson strike subs in bandpass box w/blue neon.
whole sytem including pioneer HU is 1500 watt.

I've done several HU's before in almost every car I've owned. When it comes to subs/amps I know HOW but I can never make them look right as far as the running of the wires, etc..

This is why I will do any head unit but leave the rest to the pros.

Well if you run a sub to under to rear seat you can hide the wires along the kick panel and then run them through the holes in the carpet for the jack. The mount the amp over the holes and BAMN you see no wires at all. Very clean install.

Just do it yourself. If this is your first time, it may seem overwhelming but it's actually really simple when it comes down to it. I've installed at least 20 FULL stereos and I always do all the work to my own vehicles' stereo. There are enough places online where you can get full instructions with diagrams to help you along the way. And if you cant figure it out, post your problem and somebody here will be able to help you.

if you want the color codes for the wires ill give them to you, but if ur in doubt get a professional

I installed my system...nothing special: in-dash DVD...a digital sound processor...3 additional monitors...2 amps....2 10s...XM...components in the front doors and coaxials in the back doors. It did take a little longer than an hour though.

Haha..I also installed a in dash TV, PAC steering wheel controls and DvD bypass, Sirius radio, 2 amps, component speakers in the front doors, aftermarket speakers in the rear, and a JL audio stealthbox. Its not hard at all...the hardest part is programming all the equilizer levels to make the system sound good. Take your time!!! And dont jury rig anything!!!
