Truck rushed to Stealership

A few concerns:

First - Today I got in my truck to run to the bank about 4 this afternoon and as soon as I turned the key all my dash lights and parking lights started flashing. I have the autolamp feature and I keep it in that position all the time. So no matter what I did I could not get the lights to stop flashing. I was able to turn my truck on and drive it over to the dealership (Five Star Ford in NRH, TX) while only able to turn the lights to the parking position to keep them from flashing at everyone. Service rep. says he has NEVER seen this or heard of this EVER. So they decide to start with the Vehicle Security Module. I leave with a loaner and hope to return tomorrow with it fixed and ready to roll again. Anyone heard of this?

2nd - I took out my Edge before I went just to make sure there wouldn't be any resistance. I have the 20.21 version, should I upgrade to the 20.24? I'm nervous because mine works so well now I don't want to have any issues with my EDGE.

3rd - I want the dealer to reflash my PCM with the latest software and because my speedo is off. Is this worth asking for? Will I get any resistance? Or should I just leave it alone? BTW my tire size was not correct on the stock tune.

They might charge u like $125 to correct the speedo. Cant u just change it on your edge? I corrected mine with my 35s and the speedo on the edge and in the dash are about 2-3mph off which i guess is normal for everyone with the edge. I have never heard of that parking light thing. kinda weird

what kind of keyless/security did it come with from the factory, we had a vehicle that came in today that did the same, it was an explorer, all we had to do was reprogram it. not saying thats what went down with yours, but it sounds similar

but it also had a remote start

I have the edge tuner and from what I gather is I would update it if I was having a problem. I've have my edge since July and have not updated it yet. I would leave it alone unless you have problem.

Reprogram your tire size, use measurements as it spells out in the book, then check it using mile markers on the hyway. It's easy, good luck!

I did that, and the speedo on my truck is still off. The speed displayed on my edge is what I corrected. Is there a way to correct the analog speedo in my stock dash??

How far off, the Edge is suppost to adjust your speedo also in your dash. Mine is off by 2 mph from the Edge unit.

Your speedo will always be off a little bit. Changes in outside temperature, air pressure, tires get taller the faster you drive, etc.

Did you do the rolling measure method of your tire or did you just calculate the tire size based off of manufacture specs?

I fine tuned mine by using mile markers on the hyway at 60 mph. I would check it, pull over, adjust my tire size, try it some more and so on till I had the dash speedometer reading correctly for 60 seconds between mile marker posts at 60 mph.

Do the roll tired method and see if the numbers are the same or not.

Update

I got my truck back last night from Sam Pack's Five Star Ford. First of all let me say that Chris Wagner my Service Writer was excellent. And the girls behind the cashier glass were awesome as well as cute . I just moved up here to Fort Worth, TX last week from Houston and I am glad that Five Star Ford was here to help me out.

So they replaced my Vehicle Security Module and reprogramed my key fobs. Well as they were working on my truck they must have re-flashed my PCM because as soon as I got home and tried to hook my EDGE back up it gave me a f1 code.

Does anyone know what I need to do now? Do I need to upgrade from my version 20.21 to 20.24?
