Arrow Noisy Motor

my motor is really noisy. I know that the fuel injectors make noisy but it almost seems like there is an exhaust leak is anyone else hacing these problems. At idle rpms are around 500. Thanks

All 3 valve 5.4's are noisy like that, though your idle rpm's seem low.

i talked to a tech a few weeks back and he said there was no way that they could adjust the idle. He said the truck makes that decision.

you can adjust your idle with an XCal2. I just went in to my muffler man and he fixed an exhaust leak about 20 minutes ago. I had that leak for months and thought it was my cats going out, it was rattling and buzzing like crazy. Exhaust leaks sure do sound like chit, it sounds a million times better than it did before he tightened the clamp, the tone is even better now. Have it checked out, they don't really charge to diagnose at muffler shops. I've done a lot to my exhaust with these guys so I'd expect them to tighten a clamp.

Josiah, you can adjust your idle on the Xcal? I thought the Diablo was the only one?

That seems strange because My truck doesn't make any noise like that at all.
either I don't know what to listen for or its quite as a church mouse. I swear the stock exhaust it all I ever hear, nothing else.
The stock exhaust part will change when I get some extra cash!!

you know I sorta thought my brand new 06 5.4l sounded a tad noisy at idle as well.

it mainly sounds like the valvetrain is a tad noisy but if I stab the gas a little it seems to quiet down as the rpms climb from idle.

also thought maybe it needs to be a little broken in....

or I am just overreacting to it...

More than likely I am just overreacting and that is where I have left it.

It can be done with the XcalII and the Edge Evolution.
