I've seen complaints about them but I have had 3 sets of them on 2 different trucks and I haven't had any problems out of them yet. The only quibble I have with them is that they will flat spot after sitting several hours but once they warm up they are fine after about 6 or 8 miles.

Replaced my Generals with just 11,700 miles on em, they looked almost new. Put on 265/70 17 Bridgestone Dueler AT Revo's. The Generals weren't horrible tires (they're now on the gf's '00) but they certainly don't belong on these trucks. The Revo's look and feel much better.

I just turned 40k and will probably get 45k out of them. I rotate & balance twice a year, align once a year, and watch air pressure. I've put a few nails in 'em - *#$&@x construction sites. Not the greatest tires but they have been ok at best. I am no tire guru but I am happy to see more makers offering that size now.
mine were replaced July 06 with 6k on the truck, (i rotate every oil change mind you 3k miles). the truck was also aligned at that time. They were replaced for noise!! The tires at that time were cupped. I took the truck back to the dealer last week, same schedule for rotation and balance now has 11k on it tires very noisey again! they will do nothing for them!! a bit frustrating if you ask me! not sure what i'm going to do at this point. it is a lease so i really dont want to foot the bill for new rubber...only complaint with this truck thus far, i love it!!
I had about 30,000 miles on my original factory Generals. They still had a good amount of tread left, but I took those cheap gray steel wheels and tires off and replaced them with some new aluminum factory take off wheels and tires. The tires on the new factory take off wheels also happened to be Generals. I've got just over 40,000 miles on that set of Generals and they are about due to be replaced. I've never had a problem with either set though.
You mean the famous optional General Ameritrash All Season Except Winter radials? Mine were about as handy as Al Gore at a Monter Truck show. They absolutely stunk in the snow. Otherwise, they were an OK tire. Mine are sitting in the basement (on the OEM 17" wheels) waiting for when I trade the truck in. I'm now running Bridgestone Dueler Revos on 18" Lariat wheels. So far, they're a much better all around tire.
Get Michelin LTX M/S 265/70/17s. They are so much better than the stockers, it is unreal. Best wet weather tire i have ever had.
