? for retractable bed cover owners...
Anyone here using the ReTrax cover? I found it for $991 from TruckAddOns.com. Just wanted to see how others who have the retractable covers liked them. Do they keep all the water out of the bed? Did you have to get a tail gate seal too?
thanks in advance

I got mine for $825 from www.truckzoneusa.com. I found them on ebay and drove to Omaha to pick it up.
But retrax rocks.
And it keeps water out pretty well. Whenever I drive through a carwash water does trickle in fromthe sides but not enough that I would worry unless I was carrying a load a notebook paper or something. I just drove 1000 miles with it raining most they way and only stuf that got damp was the first 8" near the tailgate, and thats because I dont have the gasket yet, and I'll stress that it got damp, not even truely wet.
EDIT: I just searched their site and they are advertising them for 870 but they have free shipping, too. The owner is pretty cool so he might match the 825.

Get the Retrax! I paid about $750 for mine and zero water gets inside. I think I bought the tailgate gasket separately. Retrax has excellent customer service as well. You should call them and ask the price on one.

I have had mine for almost a year and love it!! If your not in a hurry to get one I would call them direct. I called and asked if they get any blemished ones and what they do with them. They sold me a blemished (I can not even find the blemish and I an very **** about my truck, just ask my wife
) shipped for $700 with the gasket.

W O W !!!! Thanks for the insight!!! They claim that it's sturdy enough to walk on. I frequently use the bed rail of my truck to grab things off the high shelving along that wall. Beats pulling the truck out and getting a ladder. Do you feel confident that the claim is factual?
I will definitely call them about the blemish option!
personally i wouldnt step on my retrax, not saying it wont hold me. but im a big boy at 273lbs and plus stepping on the cover wouldnt be my 1st choice. u could however still step on the bed rail, i just wouldnt on the cover
i love my retrax. the only time a lil water comes in is from a car wash that is powerful as was stated before, rain doesnt get in at all
worth every penny, and is bragging rights kinda when ur at lowes and just slide the cover back and watch the other guys stare at you in disbelief and being mad that they have to snap theirs haha

Yeah, I guess I should have restated that. I never really intended on walking on the cover itself, but just the bedrails. Both of your installs look awesome! I'll be ordering tomorrow!
I have read that other retractable covers have a drain tube. Is that the case with the ReTrax?

How do you get the Retrax without the visible lock?
I can't wait to get mine...
From what I can tell is that the Retrax sits a little higher, is way more glossy and has a visible lock. I was looking into the Retrax but that finish was way too glossy for my taste, plus I liked that the RollBak sat so flush. Im happy with it, have had it for over a year with no problems. Its a very quality cover.
