ok i just bought this 2004 screw with 58000 on it the only question i have is when its in park i can feel very slight shaking but driving is fine could this be a bad injector/spark plug/coil pack/the rpms are fine they dont jump around and the shaking isnt really bad i just like my trucks perfect anybody have any suggestions on what this could be and the solution?

 

If I recall correctly the 04's had a motor mount issue.

 

ok ill have to look into that when i drive its fine but for some reason it has that very slight shake when in park but while im in drive and come to a stop it dont do it?.....and also when i first start the truck the engine kinda revs very slightly in short burst almost like it would have a very weak cam in it(and i know its not cammed)...a friend told me could be a bad injector and i was thinking maybe a plug

 

Yep, had mine replaced 2 1/2 months ago. There's a TSB out for it.

 

so for the tsb do i just bring to a ford dealer or back to the dealership were i bought it......and can someone find me a copy of the tsb so i can print it and bring it with me please....thanks in advance

 

Give them a call first and discuss your concern and tell them you know there's a tsb for motor mounts.

That's up to you. I won't take my truck to where I got it from. I take it to another dealership who has a better service department.

 

In my experience it's best to let the dealer figure out that your truck has a vibration problem that needs to be fixed. Of course they don't go looking for problems, you need to "carfully" lead them down the garden path. You might want to work into the conversation that you heard that there might be an issue with motor mounts. They will start to browse through the Ford database and what do you know, there is a TSB that confirms there is a problem with motor mounts. An issue that Ford will pay for to keep you a loyal customer that is very happy with their truck except for this one issue. If you get what I mean. If that doesn't work then you'll have to show your cards. If you walk into the dealership with TSB's in hand they will wonder which came first the TSB or the problem.

 

My truck shakes in park when the ac compressor is going. Make sure your ac is not running when this is happening. The ac compressor runs in the defrost position also!

 

The compressor runs without anything being on. Its always cycling

 

Mine only runs/cycles with the ac on or when in the defrost mode. If yours always runs/cycles perhaps you have a problem with it. The clutch should only engage in ac mode or defrost mode.

 

my truck shakes alot when at a stop sign and in drive. if i put it in nutral the shaking goes away. would the motor mount help this or is it just another problem?

 

ok well i tried the defrost thing cause i live in mass and my defrost is always on in the winter and the shaking calmed down a litle bit but there is still some shake and i dont know if im used to cars but my truck seems real sluggish then again this is my first ford truck dont know if thats just how the ford trucks are seems like i almost need half a peddle to get going

 

Its not just the 04s that have rough idle problems, mine is an 05 and in park and drive the engine idle is rough enough that I can see my seats vibrating. The dealer says it "normal" for a truck, and they are giving me a hard time when I asked to replace the motor mounts. Wheres that TSB at??
