draining water from cab

If any of you have messed around with the wires running down the sides of the cab you know there are rubber plugs that can be removed to drain any water that might be trapped down there. Everytime me and my buddies get back in the truck after muddin or hunting each side of the cab gets overrun with mud and water that is almost impossible to get out. I'd like to drill out a couple more holes to get rid of this problem but I am worried about rust issues. What do I need to do to prevent rust in these areas? During the process I am also planning on putting split wire loom on everything.

Any hole you drill.. put a little paint on the exposed metal.. this will prevent rust. Basic rule of thumb.... any exposed metal.. paint it or put some kind of covering on it VERY soon. Over night is sometimes too much.. depending on humidity.

I used rustoleum from walmart on my bed when I drilled through that, as well as when I drilled a 1/2" hole through my a-pillar

F it, your truck is ruined if you need to drain water from it most times you go muddin' ...Mud stinks, and corrodes everything...Or if you plan to drive it into the ground, and want to preserve it for yourself (not resale), then follow what has been posted. Just don't expect me to buy it

do like i did, Drill out a hole on each side of the cab at the lowest point you can find about an inch in diameter, clean up, sand and prep the hole, then seal it with Duplicolor Rubber Undercoating. To plug the holes i use regular boat plugs like you would find in any small john boat.
