I just pulled mine off, but it was pretty hot that day. It may leave some glue in which case you can use some isopropyl-alcohol or similar to remove. Just make sure you wax the area very well after.
Don't leave the heat gun on for too long, you'll ruin the paint. It comes off pretty quick, you'll see.

I did mine in the dead of winter with a blow dryer. I just got it started with my fingernail, and at the same time applying the blow dryer in the other hand. Just slowly peel, and be sure to wipe away the residue. Like Thump said, just do it. It's hard to mess up.
