well i was wondering can i upgrade the shock and use the factory coils?

 

I believe that is how is works with most replacement shocks if not all for our trucks. I know the bilstein replacement shocks reuse the same stock coil spring and dust boot for the fronts. I personally like the bilsteins, I've used them before and have been more that happy with the ride difference. You can get the replacement bilsteins for our trucks in the HD heavy duty (yellow with blue boot) or the 5100 pre-load adjustable (which are zinc plated, silver with black boot) which can raise your truck up to 2.5 inches to clear bigger tires.
