Tool Box Question

My wife just got me a chest style tool box from Lowes for my birthday yesterday. I was trying to find the best way to mount it while making it some what easy to remove when i need to haul a full bed full of stuff.

So whats the best easy to remove mounting options out there?

I didn't want to drill into my bed rails, so I opened up the holes in the toolbox a little and used four small c-clamps to hold the box to the bed. You can tighten them down so it's not moving or sliding anywhere, and you can remove them without tools in less than a minute. I've become somewhat of an amature mover for all my friends since I got this truck (unfortunately), so being able to take the box out quickly and easily has been nice.

Buy a Back Rack... they come with toolbox brackets. The back rack mounts to the bed with the supplied hardware (no drilling), and the tool box bolts to the brackets. If you need to take the tool box off just undo the two bolts that hold it to the bracket and you still have the protection from you Back Rack for your rear window. Not bad for $269 shipped, plus they look great.

Mine is bolted to the bed of the truck ... but NOT with the self-tapping screws. I wanted the option of taking the toolbox out if and when, so I had a piece of angle iron cut, drilled holes accordingly, and mounted it to my bed just in front of the bed wall below the window using a couple of the self-taps. I then drilled two (2) holes into the back side of my toolbox and used stainless steel nuts, washers, bolts, etc. to mount it to the angle iron. I have two wingnuts inside my toolbox so that I can remove the whole thing in about 30 seconds or less. The angle iron, of course, would still be mounted to my bed, but it's nothing too big to get in the way of lumber, a couch, etc.

This sounds like a great option. Would you have any pictures of how you mounted the angle iron? I have some what of a idea as to how you did it but a pitcure would be great..

Thanks.

Normally, I would've taken pictures of it after the initial install ... but, I didn't. I tried to get a good shot today, but had a little trouble getting the camera just right to shoot down the 'alley' behind the toolbox. I think I used 1.5" angle iron. I used four or five screw setups to mount it to the bed ... leaves are collecting back there right now with our (normal) late fall foliage. I only used two holes going into the toolbox with the wingnuts. So, here's the best shot I got:
