Air Compressor

Does anyone have one in their truck? I'm trying to come up with an idea of how to mount one in my bed or like-wise, removeable or not. I'm really not sure but would like to be able to air down on the trail and air back up before getting back on the pavement.

Go with the power plant... $1400 for the compressor, winch, and all required accessories.

how much was that compressor? that is the only thing holding me back right now. i have the tank already but i want a compressor that really put out. like 150 psi. that is what my tank is rated at. all the viair's i have seen are pretty expensive.

Do what Bigtruck311 did..

That was my idea in my head when I read the thread title. Or you could get a 12V compressor that alot of guys with air bags use.. and a small tank.. For EVERYTHING you shouldnt run over $400.

those viair kits are junk, you need to find something with a 100% duty cycle or you'll burn them up in no time, Also you'll want to run a a small tank like a 3gal or so. Ill snap some pictures of my setup when it gets light.

Below is the compressor im using, it filled the 35's on my old jeep from 8psi to 35 in under a min. Its also capable of running tools on the trail like an impact gun etc. I run a 120/145 pressure switch, cuts on at 120psi and off at 145. Pressure never drops below 100psi. ITs also great for running a set of train horns.

Below is the greatest 12v compressor on the market right now.

I use to run 2 arbs, on my jeep, air up and down on the trail and run tools when needed. IF your gonna do this do it right, so you dont get stranded with a burned up compressor when you need it on the trail.

I'm not even going to air down that low, probally 20 psi at max. Keep that in mind.

Gator: I'm not looking to spend $400 on just a compressor though. Anything else?

Bigtruck11: How much did that compressor cost you? . . and what kind is it?

I have that Red compressor what bigtruck311 has in his truck. its AWESOME!! believe it or not its better than some $200 compressor like vair, ARB etc.

I think its "1050" or MV-50 something. it only $50-55 plus tax. you can find it at pep boy store. it has black box with picture of red compressor.

I have 2 of them hehe.

I usually air down to 15-PSI for beach (surf fishing and hang out) i took me about 3-4mins EACH tire up to 35psi without air tank. cant complain.

heres nice write up info http://www.4x4wire.com/tech/portable_oba/

Just FYI, MV-50 and 1050 is the same compressor.

YOMAN!
