Wassup with my shocks?
Wassup with my shocks?
Well... I got a little airborne the other day a couple of times. It was my first time having the new rig off-road and i got overly excited and put it to the test. I have a 3" Leveling kit and 35's. I and everyone else on the mountain was very very pleased and shocked with how my truck performed
My shocks now look DONE.
Pics in gallery. SHOCKS Album. What have I done and what is this yellow stuff?

I'm still curious as to what the yellow stuff is.
to me that looks like a torn up melted bump stop that is on there from the factory. I dont see any oil so its hard to tell by your pictures but I am pretty sure that the yellow is just the factoy bump stop but I cant figure what would make is deform and look melted like that.
The dust boots have fallen all the way down and are resting at the bottom of the coil. That is why all of that is exposed.

In the middle pic in the gallery you can see the boot resting just above the first coil from the bottom of the pic.

thats the dust guard.
if the truck doesnt ride ANY differently then i'd say your shocks are fine. HOWEVER, if there is any change in the ride and or oil leaking from the shocks then yes, there blown.
if your truck starts handling like a boat and bounces ALOT whenever you go over a bump or dip in the road then you've ruined your shocks.
besides your going with a 6'' lift soon so no worries. i wish i could get my 4X2 to look like what your truck looks like now
