I Think I'm Out
I Think I'm Out
Just too many trivial warranty related issues with my 05 F-150 Screw FX4.
Way too many for a truck with only 28k miles on it.
1) Transmission Thunk, U-Joint Replaced (TSB Fix)
2) Headliner Rattle, Foam Insert Installed (TSB Fix)
3) Drive Wheel Warping Noise, Wheel Hub Bearings Replaced
4) Drive Plastic Pillar Warping, Replaced
5) Power Windows Rattling, Adjusted But Still Does It
6) Couple Times A Month It Doesn't Start On The First Try, Just Click..Click
General rattling and noises coming from interior plastics etc.
I've seen/heard enough. I'm gonna look at the new Tundra when it is avail in Feb. Almost EVERY Toyota vehicle in the price range as my truck seems to have better fit and finish interior components, not the loose plastic crap that Ford and GM seem to be putting in their vehicles.
Anyway, I'm done venting.....

That sucks man, sometimes you just get a crappy built truck. If you like the rest of the things about ford you might want to try a different F150, because everyone on here knows they're not all built that way.

I'm not tryin to bash Ford. This was my first Ford, my first truck and my first V-8 vehicle.
I haven't visited these forums in awhile but for a good year I read them almost everyday. Most of the time I was searching for others that were having the same problems as me and 100% of the time I found others and sometimes many others with the exact same issues with their F150's. I realize I'm only seeing the people that have problems but you have to think of other who don't read forums who are having the same issues.
I want to see what the Tundra offers when it comes out and take one for a spin. If I'm not impressed I'll wait it out and see what the 08 F150's will offer. I'm not impressed with the 07 Silverado/Sierra and I'll never buy a Dodge (waaaay tooo many horror stories about them and they depreciate waaay too quickly)....Titan's outta the question too

I'm sure you'll love the tundra...It's probably a more reliable truck than the americans...same as the cars...resale is a little better as well.
but the japs are a little too bland for me, styling inside and out. Besides I'm not planning on keeping a vehicle for that long anyway. (200,000 miles plus)
None the less, you shouldn't have problems with your truck so early
...however some do, japs are no exception and besides, I think the f150 is the best looking truck on the market, even after the new owner feeling has worn off.
Good luck!

I have not been impressed with what I've seen of the current Tundras, and the new ones will surely have first year bugs (I'd never buy a first year anything), but good luck to ya. This is coming from a 13+ year Chevy man that shocked the (his little) world when he bought this Ford.

I have a wierd noise as well at the drive tire. If you go down the road and rock the wheel towards the right, it's noticable. If you rock the wheel towards the left it goes away. I bet my bearings are going bad too. I also have that thunk at times.
