Question rising seats?

hey all.. i was wondering, and just so u understand better...

when you getin an f250/350.. you notice your seat is way up higher then the 150's..and i dunno, u just are..

my question is.. since i have a power nuthing truck, (no power seats).. is there any way to lift my seat up higher with out sitting on phone books and pillows..

ps.. im not short.. (6').. but i like seeing the the bed in the 250's when u look behind you, and i also like being up higher hten i allready am..

thanks for the help.

That's a great question. I'm 6'2" but would like to sit up just a bit higher for offroad purposes. I haven't looked at the seat mounts but I bet some trimmed to fit 3/4" stock with holes drilled would make nice shims/spacers. I'll look into that...

Hockey pucks. They are hard rubber, 1 1/4" thick, $1 each, cut and drill easy as butter. They won't rattle, won't rust, and won't compress under a light load like a seat/person. You can cut even them into square blocks so people don't ask why you have hockey pucks under your seat.

Added bonus - extra storage space under the seat.

Thinking of doing the "hockey puck" idea myself, would just have to find some longer bolts I would imagine.

My father came up with the idea about 15 years ago. I was in High School, and just got my first car, a 1982 Camaro. He didn't like how low I sat in it at the time and said the only way I was driving it was if we raised the seats. I hated the "dorky" idea, but afterward realized that nobody would ever know, and I could see a helluva lot better. Only longer bolts were needed in that car.

In the F150, I don't know if other items are bolted down by the seat bolts, like the belts, sensors, etc. There is clearly a little research to do before doing it.
