How many gallons does it take to top off the fuel tank after the "LOW FUEL" lights up? My 2004 had the 35 gallon tank, and it usually took 32-33 gallon. My new 2006 has the standard 27 gallon tank, and I haven't been able to put more than 23 gallons in it.

I think I am going to regret buying this truck with the small tank; especially when I start towing the horse trailer. I'll be lucky to drive 200 miles before I start looking for the next gas station...

 

I put like 26.5 gallons in my 27 gallon tank before. But usually I fill up at a quater tank so I dont usually hit the low fuel light. But at a quater I usually put in about 20 gallons.

 

Someone told me that the auto makers design their tanks to allow a vehicle to go approx. 350 miles on a signle tank of gas. could be a load of crap

 

I have the large tank (36 gallons). I filled up yesterday when my DTE read 22 miles. The truck took a little over 31 gallons. It usually takes about 30 when the light comes on. From full to empty (light on) I typically get ~525 miles.

 

I have to 05 XL with 27 gallon tank and I am at 420 miles before I have to fill up.

 

At about a quater left im right around 270-300 depending on how I have been driving.

 

2004 5.4 and I can get about 380-390 before needing to fill up, but I have the 30 gallon tank.
