Built FORD tuff!
Built FORD tuff!
Well I had a semi deliver some roof trusses for a house I am building today, and when he was leaving he got stuck in the snow. We have around 12" or so of snow on our side streets. Anyways after my framer and i spent 20 minutes or so trying to help him get unstuck, i said lets try and pull him out with one of our Trucks. My framer used his tow hooks on his FX4 and we actually helped get him unstuck. I couldnt believe it, and worse of all is i had my camera with me and was to busy getting them both going the same direction and watching for other cars that i didnt even take pics.
Well I know people have helped other vehicles get unstuck, but probably not to many Semi's.

I use to manage a quick oil change shop and one day during the winter the driver of the delivery truck (big a$$ box truck carrying around 3,000 gallons of oil plus 7-10 55 gallon drums of other fluids plus all the filters and stuff) slid off the blacktop and got stuck in the snow and mud. I thought he was done for because even if he could get traction he would have to climb over the 6-7 inch ledge of blacktop. The driver is a nice guy and all so I figure I should atleast give the impression that I was trying to help so I pulled my truck up and hooked the strap up and whatdoya know, I pulled him right up which I wasn't execting at all! Then we repeated the same process again the next week!
I watched my brother pull my dad's stuck tractor trailer out of snow that he was stuck in. My dad has a 2000 Kenworth W900L with a 48' flatbed, and when he parked overnight in the snow, his tires sunk in and basically created a small pocket of ice under each wheel. The truck wouldn't budge. My brother used his '02 FX4 5.4L to give him enough of a budge to get him out of the ice divits that he was in. It was pretty cool to see a Ford truck hooked up to a rig like that pulling him out of the snow.

I once used my truck to pull my 17 horse Cub Cadet lawn tractor out of the mud...didn't even need to lock it in 4x4.
How come all your trucks come with two hooks? I don't think mine came with them. What package did that come with?

there was a video i saw a while back on the news, this bus had spun out, and couldnt get moving again, and this jeep was tied up to it trying to tug it out. Then they hooked a SuperDuty up to the jeep, and pulled both the jeep and the bus out in one sweep
Maybe i can find it again....

I got my tow hooks in the mail the other day. I'm going to have to cut the holes for them and install them when I get my Christmas present from my parents, a black powdercoated GSP grille guard. Found it on ebay for $195. A steal! Tow hooks were about $39 to my door.
