Question about Crusie Control

2004 F-150 - Trailer Tow Package - Prodigy controller.

I was driving on the Interstate today, without a trailer, and had the cruise set. Out of boredom I suppose, I reached down and flipped the lever on the controller. The display read NC for No Connection as it should. BUT! The cruise control did not release like it would if I had hit the service brakes. It got me to wondering, if I had been towing a brake equipped trailer and had moved the lever, would it shut the cruise off? I'd try it myself if I owned a trailer, but I don't. Does someone know the answer?

EDIT: Wish I had spell checked the title!

Your truck/cruise is operating correctly. The is a mechanical switch that the brake PEDAL actuates, that cancels the cruise control. It has nothing to do with the Prodigy brake controller.
