PIE Adapter revisited - Splitter available?

I have the rear seat entertainment system. I would love to hook my XM up without FM modulation. Does anyone know of a way to put a splitter in place to allow for the PIE or similar device along with the RSE?

Thanks.

I'm confused...what type of switch box did you get? An RCA one? It isn't one that the PIE plugs directly into is it? That is a properietary plug isn't it?

On my PIE, I had it hooked up in my old Lariat with a couple "Y-cables" plugged into the RCA outputs. I had one side hooked up to my Sirius tuner, and the other hooked up to a wire that I could hook up to my iPod. It worked just fine.

Yea I can see splitting the RCA jacks. I was curious if there is a splitter for the CAN-BUS plug.

Thx

I couldn't find a splitter for the CAN-BUS on Crutchfield. There may be one out there, but I couldn't find it.

How is the 2007 iPod input acheived? Is it realistic to swap the HU for a 2007 HU?

Sorry Vader, just went back and read your thread again. My mistake. On my current truck, I have both the factory Sirius and the PIE plugged into the RSE port. Quite easy to do actually....

I can use either/or at any time, and I would imagine you can do the same with the rear seat video too. If I recall correctly, I unplugged the factory Sirius (in your case Rear Seat DVD) from the H.U. and plugged in the P.I.E. Then, I plugged the Sirius back into the PIE, and buttoned everything up. Mine works perfectly. The only thing that happens is if my iPod happens to be playing when I turn on Sirius, I can't hear the audio from the Sirius. Hit "Stop" on the iPod, and all is well.

vader....

if you have the factory dvd. you have the first available and factory tested line level aux input to your radio. ( the aux input jacks on the dvd )!!!!!

you could do as I and run the wires along the rails above the bins, then down and into the rca jacks on the dvd. or if you were creative. solder another RCA tri jack ( left audio, rt audio, video) inside the dvd housing and no wires would be showing.
I am not sure what happens if you have the factory dvd and a pie both installed. but the PIE connector 'T's" into the harness, so you could "plug in both"

but you don't need the pie.....
