Cell phone charger

Last night I bought a new phone (Motorola V3m RAZR from Verizon). When I plug the Motorola/Verizon branded car charger into any of the three outlets in my '04 XLT, half of the radio stations are drowned in static. Does this sound like a grounding problem with my H.U. (OEM), or just a defective charger? My previous car charger for my Sanyo phone caused no interference.

Hi.

Actually, your troubleshooting answered your question - if the Sanyo unit doesn't do it, it's your Motorola charger leaking RF.

Try another one - these things are not supposed to leak in accordance with the FCC certification. If another one still does it (but the Sanyo one still does not) Motorola has a problem.

Good luck.

Cheers

I've got a cheap moto knock off one from cellphoneshop.net (I believe its the name) and it was like 3 bucks. Doesn't bleed over the radio.
