Got backed into by Chevy truck - cracked me up !!

I was in a truck with a friend (2003 Chevy Silverado) getting ready to leave when he suddenly decided to back up without looking. Plowed right into my 2005 F150 Lariat. WHAM! (Aw GEEZ !!) We got out, looked at mine, and he said "I don't think it did anything to it", but I could tell that it (barely) pushed the chrome bumper in near the plate. Very minor. Then we looked at his Chevy. It NUKED his bumper, bent it in, tore the daylights out of the rear quarter panel to the point he couldn't get his tailgate down without jerking hard, and then couldn't get it to stay up.... He looked at mine, then his, then mine, then his.....I cracked up, and said "Built Ford Tough my friend" .... his insurance co. is replacing my bumper. I couldn't BELIEVE how much his was creamed, and how minor mine was......

I backed into my moms car, demolished her cars front end and there wasn't a scratch on my chrome bumper. They did something to these bumpers, her paint just rubbed right off my bumper and there were no scratches...her car had about $800 in damage.

In my defense she parked behind the garage door and not to the side of it, it was night and the driveway is downhill, I couldn't see a damn thing. When I heard the crunching I ducked my head because I thought I got stuck in the garage.

i had a 1987 Yellow pontiac Firebird in mint condition crash into the back of me going 30+ mph.

it was wet out and the dumb 16 year old idiot was to close to me when i had to slam on my brakes because the idiot 18 year old in front of me suddenly felt the urge to stop and make a left and she couldnt go because of oncoming traffic.. i stopped just fine.. and so did the kid behind me.. using my bumper..

anyway, point is, he hit my truck going 30+mph and i didnt budge.. bent the crap outta my bumper and F'd up my 4'' tips but i was able to drive away and never needed so much as an alignment.

o well, new bumper and a set of tips later and its right as rain.

Fords got something with these insane Frames..
Ford musta looked at the Ram and said " ya, thats a good idea. now lets take it and not do it so half a$$ed".

and they also musta said " we dont need to make our triton engine bigger! we'll simply make the Emblem larger and that will make up for lack of power to weight..

Lol.. I love my truck.

My second week owning it I was sitting at a stop sign, and some idiot behind me (in a cavalier) thought I was going to go, but didn't and just drove right into me.

Nothing wrong with my truck at all, however he had all sorts of damage, and he wasn't even going very fast.. 15mpg MAYBE?

I got backed into in a parking lot, and it dented my bumper pretty good. I think it depends on how it was hit. (truck that hit me was at a 45 deg angle to my truck) My bumper didn't hold up well at all.

Thanks Smoke !

Okay, the figures are in. My damage was a little over $600..... His damage was almost $2600.... same body shop, same estimator. I'm getting Dutch's bumper replaced tomorrow morning, take it in at 0800, pick it up by lunch.... he was told he'd need to leave it 5 days. I know others have had different experiences (not so good), but for me, for this fender bender, I am ONE HAPPY BOY !

it felt like I got wedged in there, and her car just heard and felt like a soda can crunching. It took me a minute to realize it wasn't a soda can, I figured that out when I couldn't idle back anymore...i wish I had pics of her car it wasn't pretty
