Electrical Question

hi guys. a few moths back i switched to a flow thru console shift. before that with the column shift when i put it in gear the locks would automatically lock. now that i switched it to floor shift it doesnt do that anymore. can anyone tell me what wire makes that happen and where it is so i can fix this problem. thanks guys

well i went the whole nine yards im converting my whole interior to black. if you want to go the easy way youll need a console the shifter the shift cable and youll need to fab up a way to connect the console to the dash. you you want it done perfect youll have to get the flow thru dash like i did and swap em out.

well i dug through some wiring diagrams this morning and found what your talking about, but switching to the center console style shifting should not have affected your auto locks. It is a programable parameter in the "smart" box, its signal wire comes from the digital transmission range sensor. So the electronics part of this swap have not been effected. hope this helps. ill keep looing to see if there is anythign else that could effect it.

on a side note, the wires that control the all locks are pin two on the body security module its a pink wire with a blac tracer, and pin three pink with orange tracer. But if your keyless entry remote locks and unlocks all the doors there will not be any issuse with these wires.

hope this helps, also thanks for the infomation about the swap, i prefer first hand knowledge vs. the go search for useless "i think its done like this method"

Autolock only works after you depressed the brake pedal, placed the vehicle into a drive gear and exceeded 5mph.

you didnt say you tried this so Im assuming you didnt. but look in your manual and try to program the autolocks to turn on and see if that works. maybe by unplugging everything you inadvertnately disabled the autolocks.
