How does Ford control axle wrap in the new F-150?

I don't have the new style yet but looking at the new suspension, axle wrap should be a real issue:

-Staggered shocks are very effective at controlling axle hop but the new F-150 has outboard mounted shocks facing forward at about a 30 degree angle.

How bad is it or what have they done to control it?

Thanks,
TB

I don't know if this is related to "axle hop", but I had "bed hop" problems on my previous 2001 F-150 when on the freeway. At times it was pretty bad.
Don't have that issue on my 2004.

Some call it wheel hop, axle tramp, axle hop.

I don't have a problem with axle wrap but what kind of route are you going that it worries you? . . or you just worried about it leaving it stock? If thats the case than you shouldn't really worry. I don't have any problems with axle wrap on 37s. .

Why would you think that it would be a problem on this truck? The leafs are 3 inches wide and the most you are getting to the rear end is 200-220 horse. I would not expect to see any issues with axel wrap. If you install a blower of some sort, then the drivetrain would possibly suffer. I know that some of the lower trucks suffer from wheel hop from the stiffened suspension.

I have a Lightning which we are mounting the shocks outboard. Yes hp and torque is much higher but I would like to know how well the newer trucks are behaving when the streets are wet under sudden acceleration. So how well does this set up control the axle?

Much appreciated.

No problems under hard acceleration, in wet weather I'll get wheel-spin but no axle-wrap.

someone who's blown there 150 should chime in. us stock guys ,however, dont experience any hop at all.

i'd have to imagen traction bars being the best bet to stop axle hop.

and as far as when its wet/rainy out. forget it, anything above 1/4 throttle and i start to go sideways.

These trucks are soo under geard from the factory, axle wrap is a non-issue.

Add some steeper gears (4.56's or so) and you'll meet some wrap up then.

I have 4.1 LS with xcal from troyer, intake, and exhaust and I suffer from SERIOUS axle wrap when I get on it heavy.

I think I am going to talk my neighbor into making me traction bars...but he's busy building a damn hot rod right now. Damn.

The only time that I have ever had wheel hop was in the sand at the desert. On pavement i can get on it as hard as I want and i don't have any probplems even when its wet.

I have 4:56 gears/tuner/exaust etc. and axle wrap is a issue to the point of breaking things. I took care of that with traction bars. Never had a problem before regearing, Havent had a problem after installing traction bars!

Yeah, I had major problems with this, it scared the crap outta me when the rear end started bouncing around.....so I put a set of BIG traction bars on.

I wish they were a little more hidden like mwheue's but oh well. You can see the big black shiny bar in this pic.........
