Toyo OPEN COUNTRY A/T 285/60 R18 120S RF
given the same price...which tires would you buy?
i don't do any serous off road, so i'm more interested in quite on-road performance, but i still like rugged looks. thanks.

I have the Toyo Open country A/t's, they have been great tires. I will probably get another set when mine wear out, I have over 40,000 miles on the set I have now. They 305/55/20, I read somewere that the the Nitto's were made by Toyo or vise versa-- can't confirm that, just remember reading it

Not sure about the endurance quality..
But there's also the design you like better...
And I supose also the design affects the noise level on the road
I'm very happy with my Toyo AT's, but then again I've never had Nittos

I was wrong. Here's a quote I found about Toyo Tire North America: "Toyo says that it will produce tires in Georgia under both the Toyo and Nitto brands."

Even I make mistakes.

I got the toyo's you mention. I won't own another set. I have barely gotten 40000 out of mine and they are nearly slick. And they have been balanced and rotated every 6000 miles. For $853 I had hoped to have gotten at least 50000
I have Nitto Terra Grapplers and I absolutely love them. They were such an upgrade over the crappy stock tires that came with the truck. At this point I would recommend them to any truck owner as a great on/off road tire that has a very aesthetically aggressive looking tread while still remaining quiet on the road.
