What fits with no rubbing on OEM 17's and 18's? Everyone seems to ask this question regarding leveling spacers, but not with stock suspension.

 

Stock you can get up to a 275/65 18, which is 10.8"wide and 32" tall. 285's should fit with zero trouble, a 305 may fit with minor rubbing.

 

You WILL rub with 305's. I have 2.5 Daystar and 305's and there is a bit of rubbing on full turn in reverse. Unless you are stuck on the look of the truck and really like the rake, I would recommend the levelling kit. It will give you more options for tires.

You can check out my setup...one other thing...you may want to shy away from putting anything larger than 285 on your stock wheels...higher than that and you are definitely increasing the risk of breaking a bead...that's a risk I wasn't willing to take, so I ponied up the cash and got new wheels. Not saying the 305's won't fit, just may not be the safest option.

 

I went with 285 60's on my 18 inch wheels (before AS 2 inch level) and it worked fine.

 

So yeah, I'd be curious to hear about the 17's. I have stock 17's, and every post i can find includes the use of spacers, which I am not doing as part of my buildup.

 

you can do a 33x12.5 R17/R18 on the stock wheels and stock suspension, no leveling
