I think the motorcraft, mobil1, and K&N are pretty comperable. The absolute best filter you can buy is Wix (sp?)

i used a wix my first oil change, and in the morning when i started it i got a loud noise from the engine on initial startup. second oil change i used the motorcraft and i have no problems anymore i think i heard the noise 2x since the motorcraft filter. i will say however that this is the first vehical i ever had that gave me a problem with what filter i used. tempermental ford i guess.

A Fram O/F in my opinion barely even makes a decent paper weight.
