Removing Dealer Installed Alarm

I picked up a 2005 screw 4x4 this weekend. It is a nearly flawless truck except for the dealer installed alarm. It is just hanging under the dash from a big wad of wires- not even a zip tie to hold it in place. The valet button, security card reader, and led are just hanging there as well. Is there an easy way to remove this or do they normally hack into the wires to "install" these. I was hoping that I might be able to just unplug the alarm box and plug the wires back to each other. The box that is hanging says Ford Motor company on it. I suspect that they were planning to remove it before they sold it but I was so mad when I left there that I was not about to go back and ask.

Thanks

Nice. Thats the quality in an installation we are all looking for....lol I guess follow the wiring to where it meets and see if they used T-tap connectors or maybe you're lucky and they just taped the wiring together. If you're in the market for a replacement hit Travis up at kcautosound.com He works for Ford Accessories so maybe he can help you out with what you got under your dash.

Thank you for the reply & suggestion. I think I will take a serious look at it this weekend and see if i can tell what they did. My thinking (hoping) is that they must have it so they can quickly remove it to install on another vehicle but dont know. It is such a scrambled mess of wires right now I can't tell anything and I am half afraid to even touch anything under there or it might catch on fire or not start.

This is an amazing site by the way! I thought my thread was removed when I went back to read it but it had actually just slid a couple of pages back becase of all of the new posts. Amazing amount of info here!
